Free Open Graph Image Generator
Exports at 2× — 2400×1260px. Nothing is uploaded. Ever.
The free Open Graph image generator
FreeOGImage is a browser-based design tool for the image that shows up when your link is shared on social media — the Open Graph (og:image) card. Start from one of 200+ templates, change the text, colors, and logo, and download a pixel-exact PNG. No signup, no watermark, and nothing is ever uploaded to a server.
How it works
- Pick a template. Choose a starting layout that fits your brand or use case from the picker, or open the full template gallery.
- Make it yours. Edit the headline and supporting text, swap the background (solid, gradient, mesh, grid, or your own image), adjust typography, and drop in a logo. A live preview updates as you type.
- Pick a platform size. Switch between Open Graph, X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Square — the canvas resizes to the exact dimensions each one expects.
- Download. Export a crisp PNG at 2×, host it at a public URL, and point your
og:imagetag at it. The whole flow takes under a minute.
What you can customize
Every template is a starting point, not a straitjacket. Beyond the words, you get deep control over the look:
- Backgrounds: solid colors, multi-stop gradients, mesh blends, dot/line grids, or a full-bleed image you provide.
- Typography: self-hosted font families, weights, size, letter-spacing, alignment, and text color — tuned so nothing clips outside the safe area.
- Logo: place your mark in any corner at the size you want, optionally rounded.
- Effects & presets: noise and vignette for depth, plus named presets per template so you can jump to a polished look in one click.
Export sizes for every platform
Different networks crop link images differently. The editor exports the right dimensions for each, rendered at 2× for high-DPI displays:
| Platform | Size (logical px) | Exported at 2× |
|---|---|---|
| Open Graph | 1200×630 | 2400×1260 |
| X / Twitter | 1600×900 | 3200×1800 |
| 1200×627 | 2400×1254 | |
| 1200×630 | 2400×1260 | |
| Square | 1080×1080 | 2160×2160 |
When in doubt, design at the Open Graph default — 1200×630 (1.91:1) — which is the size Facebook, LinkedIn, Slack, and Discord all read from your og:image tag. For the full breakdown, see the OG image size cheat sheet.
Private by architecture
FreeOGImage has no backend that touches your content. Your text and images are processed entirely in your browser and saved only to this device's local storage. There is no account, no upload, and no server to leak — privacy isn't a setting here, it's the architecture. Read more about how the project works and is funded.
Frequently asked questions
Is the OG image generator really free?
Yes — completely. Every template, every platform size, and every export is free with no watermark, no trial, and no account. The site is supported by unobtrusive ads, which is what keeps the editor free to use.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. There is no login, no email, and no paywall. Open the editor and start designing immediately. Your in-progress design and saved library are kept in your browser's local storage on your device.
What size should an Open Graph image be?
The standard is 1200×630 pixels, a 1.91:1 landscape ratio. That single size covers Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, and iMessage. FreeOGImage exports at 2× (2400×1260) so the image stays sharp on high-DPI screens.
Where do my uploaded logos and images go?
Nowhere — they never leave your device. Images you add are read into memory in your browser and used directly in the canvas. FreeOGImage has no backend that receives or stores your files.
Can I use the images I create commercially?
Yes. The cards you make are yours to use, including commercially. You are responsible for having the rights to any logos, photos, or fonts you add. See the terms for the full details.
What file format does it export?
A PNG at exactly the dimensions of the platform you chose, rendered at 2× for crisp text and edges. Host that PNG at a public HTTPS URL and point your og:image meta tag at it.
